what about adding handicap?
a problem for highrated players is that not many wanna play for ps$.
who wanna play somebody realcash(ps$) if they know they have verry little chance of winning?

so by adding this handicap.
it will give lowrated players a better chance of winning.. and everybody can play everybody.

for example a race to 5.
a highrated player vs lowrated player.
the low rated player gets 3 games ahead in handicap..so the score starts 3-0 to the lowstar player.
the highrated player needs to win 5 games. but the lowrated player needs to only win 2.

what do you guys think?

Good idea, but its a little simplistic... Try thinking of a more advanced handicap system...

Handicap would work but too confusing and we don't have enough data to equate ratings to handicap. It would have to be a forced thing, not an option.

Play89 does 8 ball with a doubling cube which is a bit interesting, but still doesn't solve this problem.

I think the focus of the site will skew towards tournaments where weaker players have a much greater chance given a race to 2 or 3. I also think that for 1-1 matches there is a large enough luck factor for 1 or 2 game matches that weaker players are willing to play.

we play like this in our clubtournaments in real. most clubs do, and it works really good. i dont think it needs to be more advanced.

you dont have to chance any raitings.. it will work like a normal match.
it also has to be a option. a forced handicap like this wont be a hit.
