'Beloki' of Finland beat out 240 players in a winner take all format for an entry into the 2008 World Series of Poker. It was not without controversy and speculation however.
What started out as a banner day for PoolStars was suddenly marred by an individual from Romania entering multiple accounts, two of which unfortunately made the semi-finals in separate matches. This breach of the rules was discovered only at the end of the semi-finals, the final match shockingly ended in default, as the other contestant was disqualified. It was a sad end to a brilliant tournament sought after by so many over the month of May and in the grand final.
There was one happy winner though despite all of the chaos, and 'Beloki' will seek to become the youngest winner in WSOP history starting on July 3rd, 2008 in Las Vegas. You will be able to follow 'Beloki's' progress at Pokernews.
